About the Journal
Islam and Digital Humanities (IDIH) is an international peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary research at the intersection of Islamic Studies and Digital Humanities. The journal explores how digital technologies are transforming the study, interpretation, and dissemination of Islamic knowledge as well as the lived experiences of Muslim societies in the digital age.
IDIH provides a global platform for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to critically examine the interaction between Islam and digital culture, including emerging developments such as artificial intelligence, social media, digital archives, big data analysis, and computational approaches to Islamic texts. By integrating traditional Islamic scholarship with innovative digital methodologies, the journal aims to contribute to the development of a new field often referred to as Digital Islamic Studies.
The journal publishes high-quality research articles, review articles, and conceptual papers covering a wide range of topics, including digital Qur’anic studies, computational analysis of hadith literature, digital anthropology of Muslim communities, online religious authority, digital Islamic education, and the role of technology in shaping contemporary Islamic discourse. IDIH welcomes contributions from diverse academic disciplines such as Islamic studies, anthropology, sociology, media studies, history, digital humanities, and information science.
Through rigorous peer review and international collaboration, Islam and Digital Humanities seeks to become a leading scholarly forum for understanding the transformation of Islamic knowledge, culture, and society in the digital era.
